Gérard Laffineur Petracchini

CEO, Espírito Santo Financial Group

Gerard Laffineur Petracchini a rejoint le groupe Espírito Santo en 2008, en tant que membre du Conseil d’Administration et Président du Comité Exécutif de la Holding Financière du groupe, Espírito Santo Financial Group S.A., basée à Londres.

Il a débuté sa carrière bancaire au Crédit Lyonnais à Paris en 1988; Il a ensuite rejoint le groupe Société Générale (SG) de 1989 à 2008 en France, en Espagne, et en Italie, notamment au sein de la Fimat (Courtage sur marchés à Terme), à Paris et à Madrid, où il a été Directeur Général et Administrateur Délégué de Fimat Espagne de 1992 à 1996, puis Directeur du Marketing International de SG Fimat Asset Management pour l’Amérique Latine et l’Europe du Sud en 1996-1997; en 1998 il rejoint le groupe SG à Milan, où il a été successivement entre autres Managing Director, en charge du Global Banking and Securities Services de SG Milan, de 1998 à 2004; puis Administrateur Délégué de Locat Rent SpA (Location à Long Terme d’Autovéhicules), une joint venture 50/50 entre les groupes SG et Unicredit, jusqu’en 2008.

Il est membre du Conseil d’Administration de la CFCII (Chambre Française de Commerce et d’Industrie en Italie), de divers Cercles Financiers italiens; et de l’Accademia Angelica Costantiniana de Rome en Italie. Né à Rome, et ayant grandi entre l’Italie et le Portugal, il est titulaire d’un diplôme d’ingénieur ENSIA et du Master IGIA du groupe ESSEC.

Mr. Gerard Laffineur Petracchini joined the Espírito Santo Group in 2008, as Director and Chief Executive Officer of the financial holding of the group, Espírito Santo Financial Group S.A., based in London.

Mr. Laffineur started his banking career with Crédit Lyonnais in Paris in 1988; He worked for the Société Générale Group from 1989-2008 in France, Spain and Italy namely at Fimat (Futures Brokerage), in Paris and in Madrid where he was General Manager and Managing Director of Fimat Spain from 1992 to 1996 and International Marketing Manager in SG Fimat Asset Management for Latin America and Southern Europe in 1996-1997; in 1998 he moved to Milan where he was Managing Director, Head of Global Banking and Securities Services in SG Milan, between 1998 and 2004; Then Managing Director of Locat Rent SpA (Long Term Car Rental), a 50/50 joint venture between SG and Unicredit Groups, until 2008.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the CFCII (French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Italy,Milan); member of various Italian financial clubs, and of the Accademia Angelica Costantiniana of Rome in Italy. He was born in Rome, and was brought up between Italy and Portugal. He is an Engineer from ENSIA and got the IGIA MBA from ESSEC Group.
