Vinci Construction

VINCI Construction Grands Projets first steps in the UK were made in 1992 with the construction of the second bridge on the Severn estuary, a cable stay bridge connecting England and Wales. Our branch in London was established to ensure the development of local long-term partnerships based in the UK.
This has permitted us to participate in the construction of three major sections of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL 310, 350 and 410), the British part of the high-speed train between London and the Channel Tunnel, including the design and the construction of the North Downs Tunnel, the bridge on the Medway river and Thurrock, Rainham and Aveley viaducts. We also designed and constructed all the seven rail and road tunnels of the new Terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport in London.
The integrated construction-concession operation of the VINCI business model allowed us to be awarded the Newport Southern Distributor Road design and construction contract, which included the award winning City bridge crossing the River Usk (Green Apple Award/Structural Steel Design Award). We have completed at the end of 2008 the design and construction of the world’s second longest push-launched bridge (the Clakmannanshire bridge in Scotland), and in May 2010, the widening of the M1 near Nottingham (junction 25 to 28). Our teams have now started the work on the Lee Tunnel Project in London and on the Crossrail C510 contract for the station tunnels of Whitechapel and Liverpool Street.
Designing and constructing major infrastructures and complicated structures in the UK in partnership with our British and Irish colleagues is our prime target.
VINCI Construction Grands Projets is part of VINCI, the world leader in concessions and construction, employing 190,000 people in about 100 countries (Turnover: €34.9bn). VINCI finances, designs, builds and manages the facilities that improve everyday life: the systems that transport us, the public and private buildings in which we live and work, the urban developments that create and improve our communities, and the water, energy and communication networks vital to human existence. A private company contributing to the development of society,
VINCI successfully blends a business focus on today’s priorities with the long-term sustainability of its accomplishments and concessions-construction business model.
